- ➤ On Aug. 12, the groundbreaking for the new Chabad Jewish Community Center took place in Sioux Falls—bringing together community members, religious leaders and public officials—and marked the start of construction at 1221 W. 85th St. The center will include a synagogue, educational and community spaces, a kosher kitchen and South Dakota's first mikvah to serve local Jewish residents. - ➤ A pickup heading north on Cliff Ave collided with an SUV that turned from 67th Street North onto the road, closing part of the avenue and sending the SUV's driver and passenger to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries—police ticketed the SUV driver for failing to yield. KELOLAND
