Great Bear Ski Valley will open its ski runs and Kirby Family Tubing Park next week after a brief closure for snowmaking and lift repairs.

South Dakota law requires pet remains to be burned, buried to a depth of four feet, composted or rendered within 36 hours, and it is illegal to throw a dead pet in the garbage.

Sports footwear retailer Vans opened at The Empire Mall yesterday in the JCPenney wing where Go Calendar once operated.
The store sells footwear, apparel and accessories and features the new KPop Demon Hunters collaboration that attracted shoppers.

Sioux Falls is using sound cannons near its Regional Airport, Fairgrounds, Elmwood Golf Course, and Household Hazardous Waste Facility to move winter geese away from aircraft flight paths.
The devices will operate only during the day to keep skies safe for holiday travel.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec.
15, drivers near the intersection of West 41st Street and South Louise Avenue should expect intermittent lane closures as Utility Mapping Services surveys the area, with work set to finish by the end of day Wednesday, Dec. 17.
