- ➤ Today, The Banquet in Sioux Falls will receive 70 turkeys from the National Wild Turkey Federation to help those relying on federal assistance. The turkeys will be offered at its Downtown location (900 East 8th Street) and Westside location (710 North Marion Road) during Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. KXRB
- ➤ The St. Francis House invites community members to join the 'Walk A Mile In My Shoes' event this Saturday, November 22, with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m. Participants will meet at the memorial by the Big Sioux River—they should bring a filled backpack with 15 pounds of donated food and winter supplies to support those facing homelessness. - ➤ Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 21, the furthest left southbound lane of South Main Avenue will be closed for 200 feet south of 11th Street—crane work by Northwest Corporations will continue until the end of the day. - ➤ Karen Meyer of Brandon completed Keg Chicken's Yard Bird Challenge in Sioux Falls by eating 16 pieces of chicken, a pound of fries, and two sides in 21 minutes — earning a t-shirt, a photo with the Champion Belt, and a spot on the Wall of Fame.
