- ➤ Volunteers set up early for Saturday’s coat giveaway by Kidz-n-Coats to distribute 1,500 coats to local kids—a program that began in 2009 and is now timed to reach more families. Coordinator Teresa Blauwet said the event will help many children stay warm this winter. KELOLAND
- ➤ Sioux Falls veterans Dean and LeAnn Murfield, married for 47 years and both Vietnam era Army veterans, traveled on the Midwest Honor Flight to Washington to reflect on their service—experiences that inspired them to adopt two children from Sioux Falls through Lutheran Social Services. KELOLAND

- ➤ Several local high school marching bands competed in the 21st Youth in Music Marching Band Championships Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis—Lincoln High School finished second overall while Brandon Valley placed third. Thirty-four bands participated from several states—including eight from KELOLAND—and eleven schools advanced to the finals. KELOLAND

- ➤ Sioux Falls drivers face road closures today on North Fairfax Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets for sewer repairs (expected to last one week). West 33rd Street will be closed at Western Avenue starting Tuesday for sanitary sewer repairs (drivers should use 26th or 41st Streets as alternate routes). KELOLAND
