  • Sioux Falls Convention Center will host the 19th Annual Expo for Her on October 17 from noon to 8 p.m. and October 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature over 230 vendors and interactive seminars, and tickets cost $7 at the door — or $6 with a canned food donation for the Food Pantry.  KXRB
  • Sioux Empire residents are invited to donate gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves and snow pants to help those in need this season.   • The Sioux Falls National Weather Service has kept its operations running during the shutdown that began on September 30—employees work without pay to issue severe weather warnings and forecast storms that could bring tornadoes, flash floods, and dangerous winter weather.
