  • Twelve runners from the 437 Project completed their trek from the Wyoming border to the Iowa border and raised over $322,000 for the Helpline Center—an effort that supported mental health awareness—welcomed by cheering fans at Fawick Park in Sioux Falls.  KELOLAND
  • Camp Leif Ericson in Sioux Falls has appointed Caley Harr as its first female camp director, and she will prepare for Halloween events – including a Spook & Sprint 5K run on October 4 and the Terror Trail opening on October 10. Her experience in bookkeeping, development, and work at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society has prepared her well to lead the camp.  KELOLAND

BUSINESS NEWS

  • At Empire Mall’s 50th anniversary celebration on Sept. 28, Jodi explained that the mall boosted local jobs, raised taxes and drew national retailers to Sioux Falls. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers in Sioux Falls will face two street closures starting Monday as North Marion Road is closed between Maple Street and 60th Street for mill and overlay work—detoured via Career Avenue and expected to last about three weeks, while the eastbound lanes of East 18th Street between Highline Avenue and Veterans Parkway will be closed for a main water pipe installation.  KELOLAND
