  • Farmers across South Dakota experienced falling crop prices as economic advisers said high supply and weak foreign demand led to corn losses of $125 to $200 per acre — affecting farm incomes. Buyers in China shifted their soybean purchases to Brazil, and advisers warned that these trends could slow state economic growth.  Argus Leader

  • West 22nd Street will close between Spring Avenue and Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, September 8 for underground utility work by Soukup Construction — drivers should use caution and consider alternate routes as work is expected to finish by the end of September 12.  City of Sioux Falls
  • Gov. Larry Rhoden publicly thanked outgoing DOC Secretary Kellie Wasko in his weekly column and noted that she will step down on October 20. He said her three-and-a-half years saw a 43% pay raise for correctional officers and started construction of a new women’s prison in Rapid City — and the search for a replacement has begun.  KELOLAND
