CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Sioux Falls Police are investigating a Wednesday morning robbery near East 8th Street and Phillips Avenue when a walking victim was attacked by five men around 11:30 a.m.—one suspect, described as a tall Native American male in a blue hat, sweater, and jeans, cut the victim above his eyebrow before stealing his earbuds and the victim was later taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. - ➤ Two Sioux Falls women were sentenced on Aug. 4 and Aug. 25 for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine after selling more than 100 grams in the area—one received 16 years while the other got 10 years. KELOLAND
- ➤ Donald Cournoyer, Jr., a 42-year-old Wagner man, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after he was accused of killing 31-year-old Tyler Provost in Charles Mix County on June 18th — court documents note the charge was filed this month. KELOLAND
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Levitt at the Falls welcomed nearly 120,000 visitors this summer and will soon start a $5.8 million expansion to add 6,000 square feet of space plus new dressing and green rooms that are planned to be finished by May 15, allowing the venue to host shows during off-season weather. KXRB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Lewis Drug, a family-owned pharmacy chain with 60 locations across South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota, will merge with Sanford Health this fall as part of an expanded partnership that builds on 25 years of collaboration—its brand will remain while its 1,300 employees become Sanford Health staff to keep local pharmacy services available.
