- ➤ Two men from Fort Thompson were headed to federal prison after assaulting a man on the Crow Creek Reservation—21-year-old Lawrence Taylor received a sentence of four years and nine months while 18-year-old Trevin Witt was sentenced to 11 years with three years of supervised release following an April incident in which the victim survived. - ➤ Alyssa Fortner, a 16-year-old girl, went missing Friday at 11:30 p.m. when she was last seen entering a dark sedan with a broken taillight — police say she left behind her belongings, turned off her cell phone, and did not have her medication, urging anyone with information to call 605-773-7410. - ➤ In late June, Alfredo Castellanos-Rosales was found guilty of first-degree murder for fatally stabbing Jordan Beardshear in Dakota Dunes — he was sentenced to life in prison on Monday, August 25, and his wife Reyna Castellanos received a sentence of three to four years with credit for 350 days served.
