- ➤ On Saturday at 6:39 p.m., Lincoln County deputies and SD Game Fish and Parks officers responded to a DUI investigation near the Lake Alvin boat ramp when a 46-year-old driver from Sioux Falls refused to exit her vehicle—struck a deputy and a patrol car—and then fled before crashing a few miles away; she sustained serious injuries and faces charges of aggravated assault on law enforcement, aggravated eluding, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. - ➤ U.S. Census data shows that some South Dakota counties near Indian reservations and colleges are getting younger—high birth rates and university enrollment have shifted age groups to children and young adults, while rural areas still have more residents aged 65—69.
