- ➤ Volunteers in Sioux Falls cleaned the Big Sioux River on Saturday as hot weather and heavy rains brought extra trash from nearby floods, filling five canoes with debris from plastic bags to larger items. The cleanup was organized by Friends of the Big Sioux River and Sioux Empire Paddlers + Sioux Falls Fire Rescue with a follow-up event set for September 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in downtown Sioux Falls.
