- ➤ The South Dakota Railroad Board terminated its lease with Dakota Southern Railroad on Wednesday after the company failed to pay a $179,134 fee due on May 1, with the amount climbing to $182,850.40, and the board voted 5-0 while directing Dakota Southern to file papers with the federal Surface Transportation Board within 30 days—if not, the state Department of Transportation will act to file the necessary documents and pursue damages. - ➤ Sioux Falls City Council approved a $5 million loan for the airport concourse expansion on July 16 from the city’s reserve fund (vote was 7-0).
