- ➤ A 46-year-old man from Brookings left an 8-month-old baby in a hot car outside a Sioux Falls store for over 30 minutes during 90-degree weather and was arrested for abuse or cruelty to a minor — witnesses rescued the baby by notifying a store manager who unlocked the door — while experts warn that cracking a window does not lower a car's temperature. - ➤ Sioux Falls city council will vote on an ordinance to provide a $5,000,000 loan from the city's reserve fund to help expand the regional airport. The measure will require the state to match with at least $5,000,000 in the form of a loan, grant, or subsidy and supports adding four new gates to bring the total to 11 (meeting growing travel demand). - ➤ Drivers encountered detours last night — the intersection at South Cliff and East 26th was closed from 8:00 p.m. Tuesday to 5:00 a.m. today for diamond grinding.
