- ➤ A Mitchell man, Eric Opperman, 48, has been indicted on 44 felony counts of sex crimes against children—including first- and fourth-degree rape, aggravated incest, and possession of child pornography—that allegedly occurred between 2013 and 2025 and involved three children under age 13, and he is set to appear in court on July 15th.
