- ➤ Members of the Odd Fellows have worked for 5 years to place markers on over half of 200 unmarked graves at Minnehaha County Cemetery to honor those buried at county expense—today they are placing 10 new headstones and continue their work at Mount Pleasant Cemetery where up to 1,000 unmarked graves remain. - ➤ An 18-year-old man from Wounded Knee is charged with assault and intent to commit murder after allegedly stabbing a 71-year-old visitor from Texas at the Wounded Knee Memorial Cemetery when he requested more money during panhandling, and he pleaded not guilty on June 18—his hearing for a possible 20-year sentence is set for June 27.
