- ➤ LifeScape will host ‘Small Shops, Big Impact’ tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.—with stops at eight local shops in Sioux Falls and Tea—to boost small businesses and raise funds for its disability and rehabilitation services, and registration is required by 10 a.m. on the day of the event. - ➤ Esther’s Overboard, a new food truck in Sioux Falls, offers a surf and turf menu with frog legs, lobster rolls, lobster mac-and-cheese and half-pound burgers made from a Minnesota supplier. The truck will serve customers at Klassix in Beresford tonight and at the Second Saturday Market downtown Saturday night (prices range from $13 to $30) and has more events planned (Bike Night on July 2 and a pop-up on July 3 in Yankton). - ➤ USD will host a weeklong series of AI events from June 23 through June 27 across Vermillion and Sioux Falls — the events will feature a workshop on AI-powered materials discovery and a symposium on AI applications in biomedicine with experts from academia, industry and government. - ➤ Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken and Rep. Greg Jamison raised concerns that a 28-acre site north of the Jameson Annex, where up to 400 new prison beds could be added, may cause future problems because it is separated by a canal & lies next to a bike trail used by one million riders a year. They said the plan is not a long-term solution and that a task force will meet on July 8 to review all proposals. KELOLAND
