BUSINESS NEWS

  • At Home Group Inc filed for bankruptcy on June 16th and entered an agreement with lenders to eliminate most of its $2 billion debt and secure $200 million in new funding. The company plans to close 26 underperforming stores by Sept. 30th — its South Dakota stores, including the Sioux Falls location at 1601 W. 41st St., will remain open.  SiouxFalls.Business

  • A Sioux Falls man—36-year-old Firas Fares—is held in the Minnehaha County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond after allegedly sending inappropriate texts and hiding a camera in a teenager's home, and he is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.  KELOLAND

  • Sioux Falls cemeteries show a quiet history as they hold graves from founding families and later residents, with 11 sites spanning over 170 years of local heritage—each marker tells a part of the city’s story.  KXRB
  • South Dakota mourns local country singer Casey Wilson, 50, who died earlier this month in a crash on I-90—known for his music, farrier work, and local advocacy for equal parenting. A celebration of life with live music is set for June 21 at The Merc in Flandreau, and the fundraiser will support his family of six.  KELOLAND

  • Sioux Falls police said weekend events downtown went off without a hitch, including the Festival of Cultures at 10:30 a.m., the Sioux Falls Pride Parade at 10 a.m., and a protest on Minnesota Avenue.
