  • Augustana University announced a new partnership with Go Beyond nonprofit on May 19 to research and develop housing and support programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).   • Sioux Falls will honor American POWs and MIAs with the Ride for Freedom event on Sunday, May 24. The 17-mile motorcycle demonstration will start at 12:45 p.m. at J&L Harley-Davidson (2601 W. 60th St) and end at Veterans Memorial Park with a ceremony at 2:00 p.m.  KXRB

  • On May 20, 2026, the Sioux Metro Growth Alliance hosted a bus tour covering regional growth on the north metro and stops at Mapleton Golf Club, Thermo Bond Buildings, and Valley Springs—touring community projects to spark local development.   • Siouxland Libraries launches its 2026 Summer Reading Program on Friday, May 22 to invite all ages to explore books and join themed events through Aug. 14.   • Chefs met with the James Beard Foundation at Monick Yards on May 20 to discuss strengthening the food scene amid weather shifts.
