- ➤ Downtown Sioux Falls introduced the Open Streets initiative that turns parts of Phillips Ave into pedestrian-only zones for summer block parties with live entertainment, vendor displays and artistic performances. - ➤ CJ Schwan’s began construction on its new Asian food production facility at Foundation Park in northwest Sioux Falls on May 15th and hired at least 10 local contractors, including Sayre Associates, HDR, and Dakota Drone. Kansas City-based Burns McDonnell is serving as general contractor and the 700,000-square-foot facility will have food production lines for egg rolls and steamed dumplings — the project is expected to create up to 700 jobs when completed in 2027. - ➤ Mapleton Golf Club will open on September 1—marking the first new private golf course in Sioux Falls in over 60 years.
