  • The Good Earth Farm won a $25K prize from Expansion Capital Group on May 1 in a contest run by a Sioux Falls-based fintech company to honor small business impact. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sioux Falls will start a $1 million repair on I-29's southbound lane Tuesday, May 5 with traffic controls in place (ramps remain open). Traffic is expected to normalize by Friday, May 8 as the project wraps up later this month.  KXRB

  • Sioux Falls restaurants are serving new menus this May, including Rivage Oak Kitchen's happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close, while coffee shops participate in the inaugural Sioux Empire Bean Battle to support The Community Outreach.   • Through April in Sioux Falls, building permits totaled $297.5 million (down from $347.5 million in 2025) and included 116 single-family permits, with 78 issued in April, marking the best month since 2022.
