  • Downtown Sioux Falls Open Streets will begin on Friday, May 1 from 5–8 p.m. along Phillips Avenue, featuring an Art and Wine Walk with local vendors, live music, food trucks, and free parking after 5 p.m.  KXRB

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Jumping worms are rapidly spreading across local soils (including in Sioux Falls) and damage gardens and parks by stripping essential nutrients. Experts advise cleaning soil and tools to help slow their spread.  KXRB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • East 26th Street is now restricted to one lane east of Southeastern Avenue as Public Works repairs a water main break — Spring Avenue is closed and drivers are advised to use alternate routes during rush hours since traffic control will be removed by today.  City of Sioux Falls
  • Local governments have spent less than half of the $9.6M opioid funds since late 2022, with several counties still deciding how to allocate their share.
