- ➤ Siouxland Libraries director Jodi Fick will retire June 20 after eight years of service during which she eliminated late fees and modernized library branches. - ➤ Gameday Social and Mason Jar Boutique will host a warehouse sale this weekend at the south side of the former Argus Leader building with hours on Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where each purchase will donate $20 of premium teen apparel to the Foster Network—an effort aimed at supporting foster teens with essential clothing. - ➤ A Rapid City man died when his 2009 Ford Focus, while passing a 2002 GMC Sierra near mile marker 121 on Interstate 90 ten miles east of Wall, collided with the GMC, rolled into the south ditch and ejected its driver on Monday afternoon—only the three GMC passengers were uninjured. KELOLAND

- ➤ A recent USDA report shows South Dakota harvested 3,700 acres of hemp in 2024, which is nearly 95% of its planted acreage. - ➤ Flood waters on June 23, 2024 left debris from homes, vehicles, and a 2008 Chevy Malibu in McCook Lake, and a caretaker with local officials used a flat-bottom boat to inspect the damage. Water levels dropped after the usual pumping stopped, exposing wreckage along the shore (including parts of docks and broken appliances) that raises questions about the lake's future as a summer recreation spot.
