  • Two Augustana biology students brewed a special maple cream ale to mark the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum’s 20th anniversary; the ale will be available for sampling on April 17 at Big Lost Meadery + Brewery and featured at the Arbor Day celebration on April 24.  KXRB
  • On Saturday, April 18, Sioux Falls residents can securely shred sensitive documents at designated parking lots (Roosevelt High School, Washington High School, Lincoln High School, and Sioux Falls Christian) as part of a fundraiser hosted by Sioux Empire Crime Stoppers and the Better Business Bureau to boost community safety.  KXRB

  • Sioux Falls jumped from 18th the previous year to fourth overall in a Midwest study of tech metros, with tech jobs increasing 76.8 percent between 2019 and 2024 (the study by CommercialCafe also highlighted the metro’s low unemployment and nearly 10 percent lower living costs).  SiouxFalls.Business

  • Agropur Inc. will invest $65.3 million in its Lake Norden dairy processing facility to upgrade the powder drying system and expand product offerings; the South Dakota Board of Economic Development approved a refund award of up to $835,953 for the project, with output expected to increase by 20 million pounds.  SiouxFalls.Business

  • Augustana University will host authors Robert P. George and Cornel West for its fourth Critical Inquiry & Citizenship Colloquium on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at AU’s Elmen Center; free tickets will be available online soon.  Argus Leader

  • Sioux Falls will host a free severe weather awareness training at the Washington Pavilion on Tuesday, Apr. 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. City officials, the National Weather Service, and local emergency management will teach weather safety and storm-spotting skills (open to first responders and the public).  KXRB
