- ➤ Since opening in 2021, Fair Market has expanded into larger spaces and now operates a 10,000 square foot store on Minnesota Avenue in central Sioux Falls. - ➤ On Tuesday in central Sioux Falls, police attempted to arrest parole absconder Samir Albaidhani on West 12th Street when he fired at officers and injured one who was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening wounds, and after he stole a vehicle, Highway Patrol pursued him on I-29 until he was struck by their fire. - ➤ Minnehaha County Commission appointed Jacob Maras as Highway Superintendent Tuesday—he will manage a $17.7 million construction budget for 200 bridges and 347 miles of roadway while using his experience from working in the department since 2017. KELOLAND
- ➤ Sioux Falls saw a strong first quarter in building activity as permit values reached $229.5 million, a 44% increase over last year. Commercial additions and remodels led the growth with $93.7 million in projects (including large projects like the CJ Schwan’s foundation permit), showing robust market demand. SiouxFalls.Business
- ➤ The construction on I-229 at Cliff Avenue will resume Monday, April 7 as crews start new lighting, signals, and mainline work with improvements costing $48 million planned for completion by June 2027.
