  • Bob's Lock & Key moved earlier this month from its long-time 41st Street location to a larger space at Western Avenue in the Media One Center mall—allowing the Hawks family to meet increasing demand with room for new services. CRIME NEWS

  • Kurtis Kim Meyer (69) from Sioux Falls was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail Monday on five charges of sexual contact with a child under 16, with police stating the alleged incidents spanned five years as one victim reported the assaults ended when his wife died and a second victim alleged a confession while his bond is set at $100,025.  Argus Leader

  • Legendary 80's rock band Night Ranger will perform at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance on May 23 as part of the Miles and Lisa Beacom Concert Series — ticket sales began on March 24 at 10:00 a.m.  KXRB

  • A report from the Economic Policy Institute shows that infant child care in South Dakota costs $8,680 per year, nearly matching in-state tuition for a four-year public college and using over 9% of a median family's income. Families struggle with these costs since a minimum wage worker must work 19 full-time weeks to cover care+only about 35% of families can afford it.  Argus Leader

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, after the morning commute, lane closures were set up along East Sixth Street at Sycamore Avenue to finish work on pouring utilities for South Veterans Parkway. On Wednesday, March 26, construction will begin at the Arrowhead and Veterans Parkway intersection—resulting in a partial closure of Arrowhead Parkway and a lane reduction on Veterans Parkway as part of a joint city and SDDOT project expected to run through the end of 2025.  City of Sioux Falls
  • Sioux Falls police, Urban Indian Health and downtown ambassadors met with local business owners on March 24th to plan a new season of outreach to reduce rising behavior issues downtown and approved a $175,000 contract for the Wo’Okiye Project—an initiative that coordinates street outreach, treatment and cultural services. The plan will shift patrol resources downtown and connect people with needed medical, behavioral and social services.  SiouxFalls.Business

  • The FDA announced a recall on frozen meals from Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s sold at Walmart between September 2024 and March 2025 because they may contain wood-like material, and consumers in South Dakota who purchased Good & Gather cut green beans should discard them due to possible foreign object contamination — one choking incident was reported.  KXRB
