  • Lewis Drug held its I Love Lewis Story contest in December, inviting customers to share cherished memories of the local pharmacy.   • On Jan. 8, Roots of Brasil owners leased the adjacent building at 201 N. Weber Ave. and launched Oak & Olive Events as a dedicated venue for community gatherings and small weddings.   • On Jan. 8, 2026, SDN Communications introduced its new commercial sales manager, Chris Aeilts, whose combined tech and sales experience will guide teams in Sioux Falls and Rapid City.   • South Dakota is ranked sixth for earning potential in a study that combined median wages, cost of living, and tax policy. The report credits a 98.1% employment rate — the highest in the nation — with boosting the overall workforce.  KXRB

  • City leaders are renewing their push for mentors for school kids after falling short of the 75 volunteer goal last year.
