A Night with Heroes Featuring Kim Campbell

About this event

This year’s featured speaker is retired Air Force Colonel Kim “KC” Campbell, an A-10 Warthog fighter pilot who logged more than 1,800 flight hours and completed more than 100 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for Heroism after her aircraft sustained catastrophic anti-aircraft damage while flying close air support for frontline troops in 2003. Although her aircraft lost all hydraulic controls over Baghdad, she successfully piloted the manual-reversion aircraft for an hour back to safety. The plane never flew again, but she was up the next day supporting a search and rescue mission for a downed pilot near Baghdad. The evening event will also include a Hail and Farewell and Swearing-In Ceremony.
